The Birth of a Dream : Carla and Stacey met while working at Trader Joe's. Carla was in her third career as a caterer, and Stacey was going to college at Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island.

After a few years of cooking together, the friends decided to open a restaurant of their own.  They called it b.b. Bistro – the best of the best Annapolis had to offer.  Carla began searching for the perfect place.  Stacey began designing the logo.  They looked at several potential locations, but when they pulled up to the yellow house in West Annapolis, they knew they had found the perfect spot.  Stacey exclaimed, “I’ve always dreamed of having a restaurant in a little yellow house!” 

Keeping it Green, Local, and Mmm-Mmm Good: The duo use as many local vendors as possible, purchasing from the Riva Road Farmer’s Market every Saturday.  They compost their coffee grounds.  All of their kitchen scraps are fed to the chickens at Mystic Acres Farm which produces their eggs.  They recycle all of their bottles and cardboard.  They produce only one large can of garbage per week.  They support their neighbors by purchasing locally grown produce and herbs.  They grow their own herbs, peppers and tomatoes in a garden in the front of the Bistro. Everything is made fresh: you won't find a freezer on site!

It's About Relationships: Best of all, if you visit b.b. Bistro, be sure to leave your laptop at home! This is a true "cafe" where customers are greeted by name and real conversations are had. No wireless here!
